The Reward of Umrah During Ramadan from Bangladesh

Of all the times a Bangladeshi Muslim can perform Umrah, Ramadan carries the greatest spiritual reward. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told a woman from the Ansar who had missed Hajj that if she were to perform Umrah during Ramadan, it would carry the reward equal to performing Hajj with him. This hadith is authenticated in both Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim and is among the most frequently cited in Islamic scholarship when discussing the virtue of Umrah in Ramadan.

This does not mean that Ramadan Umrah replaces the obligation of Hajj for those who are able to perform it. The duty of Hajj remains. What it means is that for the pilgrim who stands before the Kaaba in a state of fasting, with Masjid al-Haram filled with the sound of Quran recitation and Tarawih prayers, the spiritual reward is unlike any other time of year. The atmosphere in Makkah during Ramadan is something that pilgrims who have experienced it describe as beyond any other religious experience in their lives.

At UmrahLovers, we understand the weight of this decision. Performing Umrah in Ramadan from Bangladesh requires more planning, earlier booking, and more careful preparation than Umrah in any other month. This page tells you everything you need to know, honestly and in full.

A note from Md. Nasir Uddin Rejon, Founder and CEO of UmrahLovers

I have personally performed Umrah and I have guided pilgrims through Ramadan in Makkah for many years. The experience of breaking your fast at Iftar time inside Masjid al-Haram, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of Muslims from every country on earth, is something no words fully capture. It is also one of the most demanding experiences a pilgrim can undertake, physically and logistically. We prepare every Ramadan pilgrim more carefully than any other booking we take, because the stakes are higher and the reward is greater.

How to Prepare for Umrah in Ramadan from Bangladesh

Performing Umrah during Ramadan requires different preparation from Umrah in other months. The Haram is fuller, the schedule is different, and the physical demands of fasting while performing Tawaf and Sa’i require careful planning. Here is what our founder Md. Nasir Uddin Rejon recommends based on his personal experience and 15 years of guiding Bangladeshi pilgrims through Ramadan.

Book at least 4 to 6 months in advance

This is not a suggestion for Ramadan umrah. It is a requirement. Hotels near Masjid al-Haram for Ramadan, particularly the last 10 nights, sell out completely 4 to 6 months before Ramadan begins. If you are reading this in mid-2026 and planning for Ramadan 2027 (expected to begin around 8 February 2027), contact us today. We begin confirming Ramadan 2027 hotel allocations from September 2026 onwards.

    Apply for your visa early

During Ramadan season, Umrah visa processing takes 5 to 7 working days rather than the standard 1 to 3 days. The Saudi embassy in Bangladesh processes a very high volume of applications in the weeks before Ramadan. Apply at least 3 to 4 weeks before your intended departure date. Do not leave visa processing to the last 2 weeks before travel. In Ramadan, this is too late.

Learn the Umrah rituals before you travel

Ramadan crowds at Masjid al-Haram make it difficult to guide or be guided through Tawaf for the first time. Knowing the steps of Umrah, including the correct method of Tawaf, the running of Sa'i between Safa and Marwa, and the supplications for each ritual, before you arrive in Makkah makes your Umrah more confident and more spiritually focused. UmrahLovers offers pre-departure Umrah training from our Dhaka office.

Plan your Tawaf and Sa'i timing

During Ramadan in Makkah, the Haram reaches its most crowded between Asr and Tarawih, and during the last hour before Fajr. The most manageable times for Tawaf for pilgrims performing Umrah are after Fajr prayer and in the mid-morning. During the last 10 nights, even these windows become very crowded. Our team in Makkah advises pilgrims on timing based on current conditions. Book with us and we guide you in real time.

    Understand fasting as a traveller

Islamic scholars are agreed that a musafir (traveller) performing Umrah is exempt from the obligation of fasting during Ramadan and may make up the missed days later. Many pilgrims choose to fast while performing Umrah and this is commendable. However, for pilgrims in poorer health, for elderly pilgrims, or for those performing Umrah in physically demanding circumstances, breaking the fast is a valid religious option. UmrahLovers does not advise on this personally — this is a question for your family scholar or imam. We simply ensure you know that the exemption exists.

    WHY CHOOSE

Why Choose UmrahLovers for Your Ramadan Umrah from Bangladesh?

During Ramadan, the stakes of choosing the right Umrah agency are higher than at any other time of year. Hotels are fully booked months ahead. Visa processing is slower. The Haram is at maximum capacity. If something goes wrong in Makkah during Ramadan, it needs to be resolved immediately, not via a phone call to Dhaka. Here is what makes UmrahLovers the right choice for Ramadan specifically.

We have a team in Mecca, Saudi Arabia

Our office at Hujra Street, Mecca, Saudi Arabia 24231 means our team is physically present in the Holy Land during Ramadan. When your flight lands in Jeddah at 2am and the transfer vehicle is late, you call our Mecca team, not our Dhaka office. During the most demanding Umrah season of the year, this physical presence is not a nice-to-have. It is essential.

    IATA accredited and HAAB member

UmrahLovers holds IATA (International Air Transport Association) accreditation and is a registered member of HAAB (Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh). During Ramadan, Bangladeshi pilgrims are specifically vulnerable to fraudulent operators who take payments and fail to deliver. HAAB membership and IATA accreditation are verifiable regulatory credentials. Always confirm your Ramadan umrah agency holds both before paying anything.

5.0 Google rating, Top Rated Service 2026

UmrahLovers holds a verified 5.0 Google rating confirmed by Trustindex as Top Rated Service 2026. Our 1,000+ pilgrims include many who have traveled with us specifically during Ramadan. The reviews are written by real pilgrims and you can read them before booking. A 5.0 rating maintained over hundreds of reviews, during the most demanding season, is the most meaningful trust signal we can offer.

Founded by someone who has performed Umrah personally

Md. Nasir Uddin Rejon, Founder and CEO of UmrahLovers, has personally performed Umrah. He understands this journey as a worshipper, not only as a travel organiser. His Master's Degree in Management from Government Titumir College under the University of Dhaka and his Professional Certification in Travel and Tourism from NHTTI under Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation are the formal credentials. His personal Umrah experience is the spiritual one.

We give honest Ramadan advice, not just sales

We tell pilgrims the truth about Ramadan in Makkah: the crowds are intense, the heat in February is manageable but real, the last 10 nights are extraordinary but physically demanding, and the visa process is slower than at other times of year. We say all of this before you book, not after you have paid. An agency that tells you only what you want to hear during Ramadan is not an agency you want to travel with.

What Pilgrims Say About Ramadan Umrah with UmrahLovers

“Alhamdulillah. Breaking my fast at Iftar inside Masjid al-Haram during Ramadan was the most extraordinary moment of my life. UmrahLovers arranged everything in advance, including giving me exact guidance on when to perform Tawaf to avoid the Tarawih crowds. The Mecca team answered our calls at any hour. “We traveled with our parents (aged 68 and 71) during the first 10 days of Ramadan. UmrahLovers specifically recommended this window for elderly pilgrims before the crowds build for the last 10 nights. The hotel was 200 metres from Masjid al-Haram so my mother never had to walk far to prayer. The team in Mecca was there when we arrived, which made everything calmer for my parents. May Allah reward them.”

“I traveled for Laylatul Qadr in the last 10 nights. I knew it would be intense and UmrahLovers did not make it seem easier than it was. They told me exactly what to expect. They were right. The Haram was extraordinary. The visa came in 6 days which was within the time they had told me. Everything they said they would do, they did. An honest and trustworthy agency.”

Ramadan Umrah Package Bangladesh — Frequently Asked Questions

Performing Umrah during Ramadan carries the reward equivalent to Hajj, according to an authentic hadith narrated by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in both Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. The full text describes the Prophet telling a woman from the Ansar that Umrah in Ramadan equals Hajj with him. Scholars are agreed this does not remove the obligation of Hajj for those who are able. It describes the magnitude of the spiritual reward for those who perform Umrah during the holy month.

Ramadan 2026 (1447 AH) is expected to begin around 18 to 19 February 2026 in Bangladesh, subject to official moon sighting confirmation by the National Moon Sighting Committee. No. A musafir (traveller) performing Umrah is Islamically exempt from the obligation of fasting during Ramadan and may make up the missed days later after returning home. Many pilgrims choose to fast while performing Umrah, which is commendable. However, for pilgrims with health concerns, elderly pilgrims, or those whose Tawaf and Sa’i would be too physically demanding while fasting, breaking the fast is a valid religious option. Consult your imam or a trusted Islamic scholar for guidance on your specific situation.

The first 10 days of Ramadan (Days 1 to 10, Days of Mercy) offer the best balance of spiritual atmosphere and manageable crowds. This window is most suitable for first-time Ramadan pilgrims, elderly pilgrims, and families. The last 10 nights (Days 21 to 30) carry the greatest spiritual reward, particularly Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power), but the crowds at Masjid al-Haram are at their most intense of the year. UmrahLovers advises each pilgrim individually based on their health, experience level, and spiritual goals.

During Ramadan season, UmrahLovers processes Saudi Umrah visas in 5 to 7 working days, compared to the standard 1 to 3 working days outside Ramadan. The Saudi embassy in Bangladesh handles significantly higher volumes during this period. Apply at least 3 to 4 weeks before your intended departure date.
